getting younger

i had a date with my sis to watch the da vinci code. prior to the movie she was already teasing me that i wouldn't be allowed in the theaters. i just laughed it off. i mean the last (memorable) time that happened was when i tried to watch the firm. and at that time i really didn't have the right to be there.

so i gave our tickets to the usher (my sis was ahead of me). she returned the stubs to me and i was putting them back in my wallet. i was vaguely aware of her speaking but i wasn't paying attention. my sis had to nudge me. "huh?" was my only reply.
usher: ilang taon ka na?
me: blank look on my face (which come to think of it didn't help my cause)
usher: ilang taon ka na?
sis: ha? e matanda na yan no. lampas 26 na yan e.
usher: ganun ba? (sheepish look on her face)
me: (laughing) ay salamat po!
(my sis was laughing all the way to our seats, that is until i reminded her that they didn't ask for her age... and she's younger than me! after that i was the one laughing.. hehehhe)

i don't know whether i should be flattered or what. hahahha. i mean i know i look young and whenever people would ask how old i am i'd exaggerate and say 16 or 17. well this just proves it. i know if i were in another country outside asia i could probably get off with that fib but not here. apparently i can still slash 10 years off my age! :)

i won't try to go into a movie review of da vinci. (at sino ba naman ako para mag-critique di ba?) thought it wasn't spectacular. i still preferred the book. of course i wasn't able to watch the entire movie. some parts were just too graphic (for my taste)... the flagellation part i had my eyes closed, though i did manage to get a glimpse of paul bettany's butt. :P

the movie did strengthen my desire to go to europe. sigh. je veux aller a Paris! le louvre, arc du triomphe, eiffel tower! sino ulit yung kasama ko magbackpack through europe? kapag nakaipon na... at kung makakuha ng visa :D
